Neary Financial Planning Goals

A group of five people sit around a conference table in a modern office, engaged in discussion. Large windows provide natural light, and hanging lights and indoor plants add a contemporary touch to the space.

As a financial advisor, one of the most rewarding parts of my job is to hear about my clients’ financial goals, then come up with a game plan to help make those goals happen.  I consider these conversations a privilege.  Personal finance is highly personal, and not everyone gets to have these types of conversations.  In fact, many people are more likely to talk about their health history than to share details about their personal finances!

While you share your financial goals with a trusted advisor, I think it is also important to flip the script and ask your advisor what their goals are for their practice!  Ideally, there should be some alignment, and it’s an important topic to reflect on to ensure you have found the right fit.  With all this being said, I want to share the top three goals for Neary Financial Planning, listed below in no particular order.

  • Client success:  My most important goal is to ensure clients achieve their financial goals.  If this does not happen, then Neary Financial Planning cannot happen.  This is a service business.  Our clients do not serve Neary Financial Planning; rather, Neary Financial Planning exists to be in the service of its clients.  While this might seem obvious, in the business world, this may not always be the case.
  • Mindful client growth:  I desire to grow client relationships and help more families achieve their financial goals.  This goal is necessary for a long-term sustainable practice at Neary Financial Planning.  While client growth is an important goal, I want to grow mindfully, ensuring a pace that does not compromise exceptional client service.  If capacity becomes limited, I will not hesitate to pause growth to ensure client service is not compromised.
  • Pay the bills:  What does financial success look like for me?  My definition of financial success is to build and maintain an independent practice that pays the bills (family of 6 here!), while letting me do what I love, which is proactive financial planning for awesome clients.

I hope this gives you a sense of what I am building towards.  I am so grateful for the current clients that are already a part of this journey, and I look forward to welcoming more to Neary Financial Planning as we grow together.
